Read Below For Swapoween Information & Brazen Review!

If you haven't heard, Brazen Cosmetics has a new subscription service out. Brazen offers 3 different levels of service. At Silver, you get one 3g pot of eye shadow, one 3g pot of lip gloss and 2-3 samples of current products. You also get sneak peeks of products, pre-order rights, early sale privileges AND 10% off regular prices in the e-store. At Gold, you get everything included in Silver plus a full sized lip gloss in an unreleased shade and 15% off regular purchases. At Platinum, you receive everything in Gold and Silver plus a full size eye shadow and 20% off regular purchases.

For the first 100 sign-ups of each level, there is a discount; Silver is $10 but will go up to $15, Gold is $15 but will go up to $20, and Platinum is $25 but will go up to $30.

You can sign up for this subscription box here. I subscribed to Gold; the perfect amount of product for me at a price I can afford.

For September, the following is what I received in my box.

Sandi from Brazen does giveaways every month by using a ticket system. Every order has a ticket and she posts the winning number on the Facebook page.

"Try Me" Jar Labels, "Hush Lip Gloss", "Carpe Diem" Liquid Lipstick, "Impulse" Eye Shadow

I love the fact that all of the pots were shrink wrapped to prevent leakage during shipment and to ensure sanitary product. Loose eye shadows have a way of working out of the pot into the grooves during shipment and then you have a real mess. I also liked the idea that they welcomed your feedback on products. I feel it's important to give feedback, good or bad, on products that are newer or reformulated. If a company doesn't know about a problem, they don't have a chance to fix it.

"Hush"  Lip Gloss,  "Carpe Diem" Liquid Lipstick, "Impulse" Eye Shadow (Dry, No Primer & Foiled, No Primer)

"Hush" is part of Brazen's UltraGlaze Lip Gloss line. "Hush" is a nice red toned copper color with gold shimmer through out. The texture is not sticky at all, very creamy and non-drying. It doesn't hurt that it smells like vanilla either! The thing I like most about this color is the ability to build the color from sheer to very opaque.

"Carpe Diem" is part of Brazen's Liquid Lipstick line. "Carpe Diem" is a shimmery rose gold. The texture is creamy and non-drying. I love this shade, but for more than a lipstick. This color would make for an excellent illuminator or highlighter. I literally would smear this all over my face!

"Impulse" is part of Brazen's Organic Mineral Eye Shadow line. "Impulse" is a warm chocolate brown full of gold, pink and green flakes. This would make a fabulous color for a brown smokey eye. It would also be a good highlight color once blended out. The color is much more shimmery when foiled and becomes richer. This was a good choice as most people are changing gears into Fall.

The full sized lip gloss was the winner in this box! "Slinky" is part of the Ultra Glaze line and smells like vanilla too. In the tube, it's a warm coral/rose with gold shift. Once again, very creamy and smooth once on the lips. When on the lips, the color transforms into a rose pink chock full of gold shimmer and shift. This is the most build-able lip gloss of the box. This can be a very sheer color wash or a stand out lip color perfect for Fall.

From Left to Right: Sugar Skull, Karma, Wicked, Aphrodisiac

These are the samples I received this month. These all went on fairly well but Wicked took more to get a good color. I believe this to be because it is almost entirely matte with a few flakes in it. My favorite of the bunch by far is Aphrodisiac and once these are available, I will be buying it.

I would describe Sugar Skull as being a dirty teal with gold flakes. Karma is a grape purple with pink and gold flakes. Wicked is a deep moss green with minimal gold flakes. Aphrodisiac is a lilac purple with TONS of gold and blue flakes. It has the most shimmer of any of the colors, I can see this becoming a staple color of mine.

Overall, I was pleased with this month's box. I look forward to October's box to try more colors.

It's time for another swap! Chaotic Goddess Swaps is doing "Swapoween." You still have time to get in on this if you are wanting to join. Last day to sign up for swap is October 5. This swap has a minimum $30 and max of $40, so if you can't budget to spend this much I would recommend you skip this one. I love Halloween and decided to partake in a second swap this month. After all, Fall is the season of giving right? ;)

You can sign up for the Swapoween here. You are not guaranteed a spot though, and the swap hosts will be emailing everyone who is chosen. I have already been chosen. These are a fun bunch of ladies and always give great presents!

  1. Fall is definitely the season of giving. ;)
Yay! I'm glad you're joining us for the Swapoween! It's our original swap (even before Miss Angie and I created Chaotic Goddess Swaps, we hosted the first ever Swapoween), and we LOVE all the Halloween/Fall happy mail that happens from it. Welcome!
